The regular patrons have no problem with the gay bar upstairs and will sometimes migrate up there for a change of scenery. It gets a very mixed crowd - white, Hispanic, black, younger and older - but mostly middle aged white blue collar types. Downstairs is the neighborhood bar called Mary McGrath's. Not a crowded hectic place, but they seem to get several local guys who go there on a regular basis.īlaze is a well known gay guy that has worked various bars in Philly. They have male strippers on some nights and a drag show on other nights. There is a gay bar in Northeast Philly: Blaze's Upstairs Lounge (I think that is what it's called.) It's opened Wednesday through Sundays.
